Established in November 2009, The Palette & The Page is a woman owned gallery that carries art by local artists, books by local authors, the music of local singer/songwriters and gently used books. We are located in Elkton, Maryland, a designated Arts and Entertainment District in the State of Maryland. We represent 40 local artists and 15 local authors full time. Our gallery is stocked with a collection of beautiful handmade items - paintings, drawings, photography, hand-rendered lettering art, handcrafted jewelry, finely crafted paper items, textile arts (including baby items), pottery, ceramics, greeting cards, wood turned items, letterpress and body care products. We carry children's books, young adult books and fiction & nonfiction adult books by local authors and a wonderful collection of gently used books in all those categories as well. As part of our mission, we are committed to expanding the Arts & Entertainment District in downtown Elkton through our First Friday Opening Receptions in conjunction with the Downtown Elkton Art Walk. These evenings, from 5pm to 8pm, we showcase new local artists in our gallery in addition to our full time gallery artists, provide great live music and refreshments. Many businesses and other artistic venues in Elkton join us in providing unique events on the first Friday of the month. We have poetry/creative writing readings and are pleased to collaborate with Cecil College each year. July is a workshop month that we lovingly refer to as "Summer Camp for Adults." Our goals are many: to support Artists, Authors, Musicians, Poets, the Arts, and to provide YOU a place to find unique, handmade, artistic items for yourself and gifts for your family and your friends.
